When life and its circumstances throw Roger Beck off his business pinnacle and leave him with nothing, absolutely nothing, he ends up on the streets. Now a full time bum living rough for a number of years he has settled into the life of a down and out. After witnessing his vociferous outburst at the socail security building where she works Faith Donner realises the scruffy man is the same person she was in school with as a young girl.

She has feelings for Roger, pity at first but those feelings grow as she tries to help him return to a normal life. Its a turbulent journey which shows her the depths of his despair and eventually Faith realises she may be fighting a losing battle on Rogers behalf. Faith meets someone else, a man who turns out to be a bad man, a scheming man with his own agenda and it takes a serious traffic accident which puts Faith in hospital to show Roger his stupidity.

Along with his fellow down and outs they hatch a plan which goes tragically and fataly wrong but the outcome is one that ultimately brings Faith and Roger together.
